Pasco County Now Offering VuSpex: Virtual Building Inspections ~~App-based technology connects offsite inspectors with onsite contractors

~~ PASCO COUNTY, FL —- Continuing a commitment to innovative customer service, Pasco County Development Services is now offering VuSpex – a virtual building inspections tool that provides inspection services to contractors remotely with the use of a smartphone or tablet. The VuSpex app connects offsite inspectors with onsite contractors via video, saving time and money!

With VuSpex, inspectors direct the onsite contractor remotely as they record videos, photos and notes at the job site, that are stored in a database. A geo-locator ensures the inspection location is the same as the permit address.

“VuSpex saves us valuable staff time and resources,” said Development Services Assistant County Administrator Don Rosenthal. “It’s a safe, efficient alternative for our inspectors to deliver thorough, documented results, while increasing contractor productivity, as well.”

VuSpex can now be used by contractors requesting an inspection for air conditioning change outs. Future remote inspection offerings will include water heater change outs, water softener change outs, and select re-inspections for cases with few violations.

Contractors must have a mobile device with adequate resolution and signal quality and must be able to download the VuSpex App.

To schedule a virtual inspection with Pasco County, email: inspectionschedulers@pascocountyfl.net or call 727.847.8126.
