Past Incidents
Feb. 05, 2021
RESOLVED: The iOS Push Notification issue has been resolved.
Feb. 04, 2021
NEW ISSUE DETECTED: iOS has a bug related to receiving push notifications on iPhone devices. You may not receive push notifications for the VuSpex APP, which prohibits the Inspector from connecting with the Contractor.
VuSpex has a quick and easy workaround when attempting to connect with iOS phone users.
After selecting the inspection type and Contractor in Inspect Now, click the SHIFT + CLICK to connect using a text message rather than a push notification.

RESOLVED: iOS 14.2 related crackling, garbled audio issues are fixed by updating your device to iOS 14.3 or newer. This was a bug with Apple’s version of iOS 14.2.
Dec. 11, 2020
UPDATE: There has been progress in resolving the audio issue. We expect this issue to be fixed in the next release of iOS. iOS 14.3 is coming soon. We will test upon release and verify this fixes the audio issue and then remove the warning message we currently display when connecting calls with CLICK.

VuSpex would like to bring to your attention a defect in the recent Apple iOS 14.2 release that impacts the VuSpex service.
Symptom: | An Inspector can hear the Field Agent, but the Field Agent hears garbled audio from the Inspector. |
Users impacted: | Any Field Agent running the recently released Apple iOS 14.2 operating system. |
Frequency of occurrence: | It happens greater than 50% of the time but less than 100% of the time. |
When will Apple fix the issue: | Apple has escalated this to a “Priority 1” problem but we do not have a date of resolution from Apple at this time. |
Workaround: | If an Inspector/Field Agent encounter this, the Inspector can use the “chat” feature to communicate to the Field Agent. The Field Agent can communicate normally through the audio channel to the Inspector. |
Other: | This is not a defect in the VuSpex software. It is a defect in a new release from Apple for iOS. However, we have modified our software to help Field Agents in this situation. We now detect when a Field Agent has iOS 14.2 and in that case, we give them a warning upon initiation that they may experience distorted audio from the Inspector and, in this case, to ask the Inspector to use the chat feature to communicate with them. |
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we trust Apple will come out with a fix in the near future.
Again, to clarify, the audio issue presents intermittently on iPhone devices. When the Inspector speaks the iPhone user may hear distorted audio. There are no audio issues for the Inspector.
