How does it work?
The Inspector directs the Contractor through the video inspection process by calling the Contractor’s phone via the VuSpex app. Contractors use the VuSpex mobile app to communicate with the Inspector at the job site. The Inspector can work at their desk or be at another location.
How do I get started?
Download the VuSpex mobile app via the App Store for iOS or Google Play on Android. Create an account and link your agency. Then call your Building Inspector office on the phone to schedule your first virtual inspection.
Some Agencies will schedule via Accela and some only schedule by telephone. Ask your Building Inspector office how they handle scheduling.

VuSpex is for all Contractors working with agencies who are using VuSpex Virtual Inspections.
What kinds of inspections can you do?
Your Agency will decide which inspections are suitable for using the app. However, we believe many types of inspections can be done safely and efficiently using the VuSpex app.
Do I need training?
Talk to your Agency Inspector about using VuSpex Virtual Inspections.
What should I do now?
- Download the app. Search for ‘VuSpex’ in the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign up to get your username and password.
- Sign in to the VuSpex app with your new username and password.
- Call your Agency to schedule your first mobile video inspection.
